Between the Lines

About the "Between the Lines" blog

Our latest exhibition "Between the Lines" reflects our response to the commemoration of the 1914-18 conflict.

This blog will focus on stories behind the work by the E.A.S.T artists as well as looking at other artistic and cultural commemorations around the UK that relate to WWI.

It seems appropriate to introduce this new blog on the 100th anniversary of the commemoration of the start of the 1914-18 conflict.

Watch this space for stories behind the artists' work from Between the Lines but also other 1914-18 stories and cultural/artistic responses.

Tonight many places across the UK will be turning their lights out from 10-11pm, leaving just one light remaining to commemorate the start of the conflict and Jeremy Deller's Light's Out Film (available through an app via the 1914now website - http://www.1418now.org.uk/), which has shown three films already from 1st August, will broadcast it's final film during that time period. This has truly been a very 21st century artistic response.
